Green Cilantro and Mint Chutney Recipe

Description

A bright, robust Indian Green Chutney recipe made with fresh herbs and spices.  Serve this with Batata Vada, Vada Pav, chaat and dosa’s.  Mix with mayo for an amazing sandwich condiment.  Learn how to make Green Chutney.


Ingredients

  • 12 serranos
  • 1 garlic cloves peeled
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup of chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint
  • juice of 1 lime
  • water

Instructions

  1. For spicy green chutney, use 2 serranos.  Place all ingredients except water into a blender or food processor.  Scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula and keep blending until smooth.
  2. Add water if needed, a little at a time.  Sometimes it takes a little water to get the mixture to start mixing.

Notes

  • Serve with vada’s, with Indian bread such as naan, chapatis, dosa’s etc.
  • Serve with any Indian food as a condiment.
  • Mix with mayo and use in sandwiches and wraps or as a fry sauce.
  • Mix in scrambled eggs.
