As I was perusing my vintage cookbook stash, a hot crab dip recipe jumped out at me and begged me to make it. Crab, cream cheese, scallions, soy sauce and Franks Wing Sauce is all I used. I was surprised at how easy and fast this recipe came together. Perfect for game day appetizers. This is a new back pocket recipe for me as it only has a few ingredients and comes together in only 5 minutes. With some crusty bread or melba rounds you have a wonderful appetizer or keep it all to yourself and have a decadent lunch.
I wanted my daughter to be able to make this in her dorm room so I made it in a microwave and a rice cooker. They both worked well but if you are entertaining, a rice cooker with its warm setting or a mini crockpot can be handy at keeping this little gem at the right temp. I also substituted the Worcestershire sauce for soy sauce so she wouldn’t have to go buy a bottle of this stuff. I think all college students have access to soy sauce packets.

8 oz cream cheese
6 oz can of crab meat, may use frozen
3 scallion chopped
1 Tbs soy sauce, may use Worcestershire
1-2 Tbs Franks Hot Wing Sauce or hot sauce of your choice
- Place all ingredients in a bowl, microwave on high in 1 minute increments until all is melted and gooey. Stir frequently.
- Serve with Melba rounds, veggie sticks or crackers.
